Potential Changes in the California Regulatory Landscape

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) staff are in the process of developing new regulations to further reduce emissions from transport refrigeration units (TRU) and TRU generator sets in California.

After evaluating the health impacts of emissions from TRUs operating at cold storage warehouses (CSW) and grocery stores, the CARB staff presented potential changes for comment and discussion at public workshops in August and September 2019. 

CARB is releasing their preliminary health analyses for public review in advance of the Initial Statement of Reasons (ISOR) for the Transport Refrigeration Unit Regulation to support early public review and comment.
